To make a day of it

Château de Maurepas stands in Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), in the Bretagne region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

Despite its name, the château de Maurepas is actually a public park in Rennes, laid out from the mid 1930s on land purchased by the city. Designed as a play and leisure area by landscape architect Georges Moser, it opened in 1939 and now covers more than six hectares of lawns and wooded ground. Visitors can see an Art Deco pergola, ornamental ponds, a cycling track for children and, since 2024, a Chinese garden created to mark the twinning with the city of Jinan.
