Standing above a tributary of the Doire river in the commune of Saint-Cernin, in the Cantal department, the Marzes tower is what remains of a castle first mentioned in the 13th century. Only this five-storey residential tower has survived. Visitors can still make out a vaulted ground floor that originally had no direct access, along with projecting latrines on the upper levels.
