In Villieu-Loyes-Mollon, in the Ain department, the château de Loyes stands on the site of a former feudal motte that saw successive buildings from the 11th century onward. The present estate, largely reshaped in the 19th century, combines a main house, outbuildings, a crenellated neo-Gothic enclosure and a formal garden extended by a landscaped park. Traces of its long history remain visible: the original motte, an old staircase decorated with painted coats of arms, and the striking additions commissioned by the Baboin family at the end of the century. The estate is privately owned and partly listed as a historic monument.
