Château de la Tournelle stands in 5e arrondissement de Paris (Paris), in the Île-de-France region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The château de la Tournelle no longer stands: it once rose on the Left Bank of Paris, on the quay that still bears its name, roughly where the restaurant La Tour d'Argent now sits. Built to replace a defensive tower from the wall of Philippe Auguste, it later served as a holding depot for convicts sentenced to the galleys before being demolished by order of the National Assembly in 1792. Nothing remains to visit—only the quay's name keeps its memory alive.
