To make a day of it

Château de la Forgeotte stands in Saint-Nicolas-lès-Cîteaux (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de la Forgeotte stands apart from the village of Saint-Nicolas-lès-Cîteaux, along a departmental road and the Izeure forest, on the banks of the Cent-Fonts canal that once supplied the neighbouring abbey with water. Built between the late 18th and late 19th centuries, the building combines an L-shaped house with a polygonal turret and a set of farm buildings arranged in a U around a courtyard. The site retains traces of a former monastic barn and a water mill, and its park is now home to a herd of fallow deer.
