To make a day of it

Château de la Chevrette stands in Deuil-la-Barre (Val-d'Oise), in the Île-de-France region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de la Chevrette no longer stands: demolished in 1786 by order of the vicomte de Belzunce, it has vanished from the landscape of Deuil-la-Barre, where an ice rink now occupies its former site. Only the entrance gate on the rue du Château and the former gatehouse, now home to a museum and music school, remain. The site recalls a 17th-century estate where Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Diderot were once guests of Madame d'Épinay.
