What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château est attesté depuis la fin du 16ème siècle. Il fit l'objet de modifications dans le dernier quart du 17ème siècle mais surtout d'une reconstruction partielle à la fin du 18ème siècle ou au début du 19ème siècle. L'édifice présente un aspect monumental, une façade à l'ordonnance et au décor élégants et sobres, encadrée par deux corps de logis. La chapelle néo-gothique, face au château, offre de belles proportions, des éléments décoratifs sculptés raffinés ainsi que des vitraux historiés. La demeure domine un vaste parc, signé du paysagiste renommé du 19ème siècle, Bülher, dont une grande partie des dispositions d'origine sont conservées. Les communs s'organisent autour d'une cour carrée accessible par deux portes au sud et au nord. Le château abrite des décors originaux dans le hall d'entrée et dans la cage d'escalier : cariatides provenant de la manufacture de Virebent, faux marbres d'origine sur les murs. Les salons ainsi que les chambres ont préservé leurs papiers peints d'origine.
