Château de Chenavel stands in Jujurieux (Ain), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Set on a plateau above the Ain river, on the outskirts of Jujurieux, the château de Chenavel stands on the site of a 14th century stronghold that was reworked over the centuries. Across the valley it faces the château de Thol. The building survived both regional wars and the Revolution without being destroyed, an unusual fate for a fortress of its age. Its present appearance still bears the marks of successive rebuildings carried out between the 16th and 19th centuries.
