To make a day of it

Château de Chazeuil stands in Chazeuil (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Chazeuil, in the Côte-d'Or department, the ruins of a 14th century stronghold stand on private land at the western edge of the village. The original polygonal enclosure had eight round towers, of which a tall corner tower and its stair turret remain the most visible. Left in ruin for a long time, the site has undergone restoration work that brought to light features such as a vaulted dungeon and large rooms with massive fireplaces.
