To make a day of it

Château de Brévannes stands in Limeil-Brévannes (Val-de-Marne), in the Île-de-France region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de Brévannes stands in Limeil-Brévannes, within what is now the Émile-Roux hospital grounds. Nothing remains of the medieval castle of the Corbie family, recorded as early as the 14th century: the present building, in Louis XVI style, dates from the late 18th century, when Marc Henri Le Pileur de Brévannes had the old stronghold torn down to build in its place. Of the gardens laid out under Louis XIV by Le Nôtre, only the memory survives. The estate later passed through several wealthy bourgeois and noble families, including Prince Achille Murat, before becoming a hospice in 1883 and then the hospital that still occupies the site today.
