In Bourguignon-sous-Montbavin, southwest of Laon, stands a country house built between 1828 and 1835 for a family of the Laon bourgeoisie. Constructed in limestone, the building follows the model of the Italian Palladian villa, with its stacked serlian windows and rusticated pilasters. The grounds still hold an 18th-century gateway from an earlier wine-press building, outbuildings dated 1818, and a neo-Romanesque chapel erected in 1922, set within a park planted with notable trees.
