What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château construit entre 1714 et 1743 à l'emplacement d'une ancienne maison forte. Jardins aménagés à la même période. Château rasé en 1946, après les destructions de la seconde guerre mondiale. Sur le site du château, les jardins subsistent, ordonnés en terrasses, sur trois axes. L'axe médian, en creux, est embelli d'un escalier en X (courbes et contre-courbes de style Louis XV) franchissant une chute d'eau qui se déverse dans un canal, à l'extrémité duquel trois arcades ouvrent sur le niveau bas du jardin. Mis au goût du jour dans la première moitié du 19e siècle, le parcours fut alors naturalisé et des essences, comme le hêtre à feuilles laciniées, furent plantées en partie basse.
