Manoir d'Ango stands in Varengeville-sur-Mer (Seine-Maritime), in the Normandie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second quarter of the 16th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In Varengeville-sur-Mer, a few kilometres from Dieppe, the Manoir d'Ango hides a rare piece of Renaissance architecture behind its fortress-like walls. Built between 1530 and 1545 for the shipowner Jean Ango, the complex is arranged around a courtyard featuring an Italian-style loggia and a monumental dovecote. The latter, eleven metres high and topped with an imperial roof, combines flint, brick and sandstone in coloured geometric patterns. Visitors can also spot medallions on the facades depicting François I and his Dieppe host.
