To make a day of it

Wallburg Kegelriss stands in Ehrenkirchen (Landkreis Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Wallburg Kegelriss, also known as Burg Ehrenstetten, is a vanished hilltop fortification located on a ridge about 2600 metres southeast of the village of Ehrenstetten. It consists of a trapezoidal Celtic rampart dating from the La Tène period, parts of which remain visible on the ground today. The enclosure once surrounded an area of roughly 16 hectares and contained a Celtic settlement of about 6 hectares, occupied between approximately 150 and 80 BC. Excavations revealed a timber and earth construction technique, with massive upright posts connected by wooden beams and cross anchors.
