To make a day of it
Burg Breisach stands in Breisach am Rhein (Landkreis Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Breisach survives only as a ruin on top of the Münsterberg hill above the town of Breisach am Rhein. Built at the end of the 12th century, likely at the initiative of Berthold V of Zähringen, it was extended by the Habsburgs and raised to the rank of imperial fortress in the early 14th century. What remains today are stretches of wall and the moat that once cut off the keep, which itself vanished after the demolitions of the 18th century. A model of the former castle is on display at the town museum housed in the Rhine Gate in Breisach.
