Vri-Jade stands in Jade (Landkreis Wesermarsch), in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Vri-Jade castle was a fortress built in 1401 west of the Jade river by Count Dietrich of Oldenburg and his brother Christian. It was destroyed by the Frisians in 1426 following Oldenburg's defeat at the Battle of Detern, then rebuilt by Count Gerd the Bold, before fifteenth century sources describe it as a base for raids against merchant ships. Hanseatic merchants targeted by these raids finally destroyed it in 1488. No standing remains exist today, only faint traces of the former ditches and an archaeological site mark its former location.
