Süseler Schanze stands in Kreis Ostholstein (Kreis Ostholstein), in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
The Süseler Schanze is the remains of a Wendish ring fortification on a peninsula jutting into the Süseler See, near Süsel in Schleswig-Holstein. Surrounded by water on three sides, the site may have borne the Slavic name Suislegrad. Visible today are traces of the oval main rampart, roughly 70 to 95 metres across, and a curved outer rampart belonging to an outer bailey about 60 metres to the north. Pottery fragments found at the site date the settlement to between the 7th and 12th centuries.
