To make a day of it

Schloss Zinnitz stands in Calau (Landkreis Oberspreewald-Lausitz), in Brandenburg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Zinnitz stands in the hamlet of Zinnitz, part of the town of Calau, south of the Spreewald region. The late neoclassical building visible today dates from renovations carried out between 1860 and 1864, though the estate's history goes back to a medieval Rittergut first recorded centuries earlier. Ownership passed through several noble families, including the von Bocksdorf family for nearly three hundred years, before the Prussian finance minister Erasmus Robert von Patow acquired it and had it rebuilt into a late classical manor set within landscaped grounds. The building now houses an architectural office and private residences.
