Schloss Oberkotzau rises on a hill above the center of the village of Oberkotzau in Bavaria. Its history goes back to the former seat of the von Kotzau family, destroyed several times, including during the Hussite Wars, before being rebuilt in Baroque style in the 18th century. The village fire of 1852 gave the two-winged building its present form. Today one wing houses a residential home run by the Diakonie social service, while the other, privately owned, offers holiday apartments.
