Schloss Obenhausen stands at the centre of the village of Obenhausen in Bavaria, on the site of a medieval moated castle whose surrounding ditch is still visible today. The present building dates largely from the 16th century, though it was reshaped several times, notably through a major addition of storeys between 1889 and 1891 and a renewed roof in 1953. It appears as a three-storey cubic structure flanked by two towers and a projecting staircase, topped by a tall hipped roof, and set within an English-style landscape park with a small lake.
