Ahlden House stands beside a former arm of the river Aller in Ahlden (Aller), in the Heidekreis district of Lower Saxony. Built from 1549 as a moated house, it now forms three wings arranged in a horseshoe, combining timber framing with a Renaissance courtyard facade. The place is best known as the exile of Princess Sophia Dorothea of Brunswick-Lüneburg, confined here from 1694 until her death in 1726. Now privately owned, the building houses an art auction house.
