To make a day of it
Königliches Schloss Berchtesgaden stands in Berchtesgaden (Landkreis Berchtesgadener Land), in Bavaria, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Königliches Schloss Berchtesgaden occupies the buildings of a former Augustinian canons' monastery founded in the early twelfth century, later the residence of the prince-provosts of Berchtesgaden and, from 1810, property of the Bavarian royal house. Visitors can see thirty of its preserved rooms, furnished as they were when Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria lived there with his family during the 1920s, complete with tapestries, paintings and historic armouries. The complex combines Romanesque and Gothic remains with Renaissance halls and an eighteenth-century Baroque wing, the result of centuries of successive building work.
