The Hemburg was a hilltop fortress that has since vanished, once standing on the Hemberg near the Itterbach stream, close to Bontkirchen in the municipality of Brilon. First recorded in a document from 1309 as a possession of the Archbishops of Cologne, it served to defend the surrounding territory. By 1370, it no longer appeared in Archbishop Friedrich III's register of fiefs, suggesting it had already fallen out of use by then. No visible remains survive at the site today.
