To make a day of it

Haus Lüttinghof stands in Gelsenkirchen (Gelsenkirchen), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Haus Lüttinghof is a former moated manor in the Hassel district of Gelsenkirchen, close to the border with Marl. Built in the early 14th century, it is the city's oldest listed monument, later reshaped in Baroque style by the lords of Nesselrode around 1700. The complex consists of several island buildings linked by stone bridges, including surviving wings of the manor house, the site of a vanished ornamental garden, and an outer courtyard rebuilt in modern form during the 20th century. Its setting within a protected wetland of centuries-old oaks is as much part of the visit as the buildings themselves.
