Nordhorn

Gut Brandlecht stands in Nordhorn (Landkreis Grafschaft Bentheim), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Gut Brandlecht is a former manorial seat of the Grafschaft Bentheim, now part of the town of Nordhorn in Lower Saxony. A moated stronghold on the site was first recorded in 1326, and the present Prinzipalhaus was built in 1779 to replace a 16th century manor house that had fallen into disrepair. The moat and enclosure still surround the property, which stands next to the Catholic Marienkirche, built in the 19th century on part of the former farm courtyard. The complex traces a long line of local lordship, from the lords of Brandlecht to the Droste zu Vischering family.
