Burgstall Waldau stands in Wahlen (Odenwald) (Landkreis Bergstraße), in Hesse, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Burgstall Waldau marks the site of a former moated castle, now vanished, near Wahlen in the Odenwald. Built probably in the late 12th or early 13th century on the banks of the Ulfenbach stream, the stronghold was surrounded by two water-filled ditches and was destroyed by fire in the second half of the 13th century. Excavations in 1890 and 1893 uncovered the foundations of a chapel and traces of an enclosing wall, but the site was later heavily levelled, first by earthworks and then by industrial development after 1945. No standing structure remains today, only the archaeological record of what once stood here.
