Burgstall Altenschneeberg stands in Tiefenbach (Landkreis Cham), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Burgstall Altenschneeberg marks the site of a former medieval castle, now almost entirely vanished, set on a rocky spur of the Schlossberg near the hamlet of Altenschneeberg. Likely built in the first half of the 13th century, it was fought over by Bavarian dukes and passed through several noble families before being abandoned in the 16th century. Only scant foundation remains and a defensive ditch survive today, but the location serves as a viewpoint over the surrounding valley.

  • Almost no structure remains visible, only a few foundation remnants and a ditch.
  • Access is via a hiking trail, with an ascent of roughly 250 metres from the valley.
  • The place functions more as a panoramic viewpoint than a castle to tour in the usual sense.
  • The site is listed as a Kulturdenkmal in Germany.
