The Burg Wolfstein is the ruin of a medieval hilltop castle standing 450 metres above the Isar valley, in the Auloh district of Landshut, Bavaria. Founded in the 12th century by the noble Schauenburg family, it passed around 1170 to the House of Wittelsbach and served as a residence and hunting seat for that dynasty. Its main claim to fame is the birth here in 1252 of Konradin, the last legitimate male heir of the Hohenstaufen line. What remains today are foundation walls and three vaulted 16th-century cellars, incorporated into a farmhouse built around 1800 on the site of the former main building.
