The Burgruine Reichenstein crowns the summit of the Reichenstein, a hilltop in the Oberpfälzer Wald rising above the village of Stadlern, at 874 metres above sea level. What remains today are scant wall fragments and the stump of a round keep. Nothing certain is known about who first built the castle, but its ownership can be traced through a long line of lords, from the Lords of Hostau to the Landgraves of Leuchtenberg, and through its capture by the Hussites in 1431.
