To make a day of it
Burg Liebenstein (Wartburgkreis) stands in Bad Liebenstein (Wartburgkreis), in Thuringia, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Burg Liebenstein stands as a ruin on a hilltop on the southwestern slope of the Thuringian Forest, above the town of Bad Liebenstein. Built by the lords vom Stein toward the end of the 14th century, it gave its name to a branch of that family, the Stein zu Liebenstein, who held it for nearly three centuries. Only fragments of walls remain today, along with a tower converted into a viewing platform, set within woodland that lends itself more to a walk than to touring an intact building.
