To make a day of it

Burg Blomendal stands in Blumenthal (Bremen), in Freie Hansestadt Bremen, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 14th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Burg Blomendal is a former moated stronghold at the confluence of the Blumenthaler Aue and the Beckedorfer Beeke, in the Bremen district of Blumenthal. Rebuilt in the 14th century after an earlier 13th-century structure was destroyed, it is considered the oldest secular building in Bremen. Inside, a painted ceiling from the 16th century survives, commissioned by a Bremen mayor who once lived there. The main building now houses the archives of a local history association, while one wing serves as a kindergarten.
