The Altes Schloss in Freyenstein, part of Wittstock/Dosse, survives only as a partial ruin of a 16th century Renaissance residence. Its most notable feature is the north facade, decorated with terracotta ornament attributed to the workshop of the Lübeck master Statius von Düren. Weddings are held on site, and a small display of household items, clothing and tools from the 19th and 20th centuries can be seen there.
