The Alte Burg is an early 16th century lowland castle built on an island surrounded by earthworks, between the Alme river and the former course of the Lohne, in the Wewer district of Paderborn. Together with the neighbouring Große Scheune barn, it forms one of the oldest surviving building groups in the village. Owned by the von Brenken family since the early 16th century, it is still inhabited today by a descendant of that line. The two-winged rubble stone building has sandstone corner quoins and window surrounds, and inside retains exposed beams and baroque door frames dated to 1690.
