What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château construit en 1667 par Charles de Lionne, abbé de Lesseins. A la demande du marquis de Valbonnais, le château est modifié en 1769, pour lui donner son allure actuelle. L'édifice comprend un corps de logis principal auquel sont accolées deux ailes symétriques dans l'alignement de la façade, formant chacune une cour intérieure, avec galerie donnant sur le jardin. A l'intérieur, les pièces ont conservé leur plafond à gypseries, leur parquet à panneaux et leurs cheminées. Un jardin à la française s'étendait autrefois. Une grotte en rocaille avait été aménagée sous l'escalier menant au jardin.
