Château de Mirambeau stands in Mirambeau (Charente-Maritime), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Château de Mirambeau stands on a hillside in northern Charente-Maritime, between Bordeaux and Cognac. An 11th-century fortified building once occupied the site, changing hands repeatedly before the present north wing was raised in 1570 in a neo-gothic style. Count Charles Nicolas Duchâtel acquired the estate in 1813 and reshaped it into a neo-Louis XIII residence blending gothic and Renaissance features. The property now operates as a boutique hotel rather than a monument open for ordinary sightseeing.
