About twenty kilometres west of Toulouse, the château de La Salvetat-Saint-Gilles combines a fortified façade dating from the 13th and 14th centuries with a residence reworked up until the 18th century. Built around an enclosed courtyard, it features two wings connected by arcaded galleries, one of which retains, on the first floor, a stencilled painted ceiling dating from the early 17th century. Bought by the local council in 2016 after a period of decay, the building underwent restoration work starting in 2019, particularly on its west wing.
