What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château actuel est acquis en 1907 par le père de Christian Dior puis vendu à la ville de Saint-Ouen, en 1933, afin d'y installer une "colonie scolaire", directement inspirée de l'architecture industrielle. Elle sera ouverte dès 1934. A cette époque, l'ensemble comprend le château originel, le bâtiment de la colonie proprement dite ainsi qu'une grande infirmerie appelée «la Sapinière». Les bâtiments sont construits en béton armé, granit et brique bicolore et sont couverts de toits en terrasse. Une pergola en béton armé assurait un accompagnement paysager de la façade de la colonie.
