What the French Ministry of Culture records

Pavillon de chasse de style Napoléon III édifié autour de 1860 par la famille Du Pont de Compiègne. Le château a sans doute été construit en deux temps, d'abord la partie centrale en pan de bois, puis les deux ailes latérales (aile Sud en pan-de-bois, aile Nord en brique avec décor de plâtre). L'édifice est achevé en 1864. Les communs ont été construits vers 1885. L'ensemble possédait un décor polychrome, goût du 19ème siècle pour l'architecture pittoresque issue de la découverte de l'architecture traditionnelle française et étrangère. A l'intérieur de la partie centrale, grande salle lambrissée, escalier en bois à balustres, salle du premier étage avec cheminée en marbre. A l'extérieur façade Sud flanquée d'une double galerie.
