What the French Ministry of Culture records

Manoir construit vers 1470 par Jehan de Garguesalle, à la place d'une forteresse plus ancienne et plus importante dont les fondations ont été retrouvées. Le manoir du 15e siècle se compose d'un corps de logis rectangulaire élevé d'un étage et d'un comble, avec lucarnes surmontées d'un gâble orné de crochets et couronné d'un fleuron. Il est cantonné aux angles de tourelles en encorbellement. La façade sud est flanquée, en son centre, d'une haute tour d'escalier octogonale, flanquée elle-même à l'ouest d'une tourelle cylindrique en encorbellement et couronnée d'une flèche accompagnée de lucarnes. A la base de cette tour d'escalier s'ouvre la porte du logis, surmontée d'une accolade à crochets qui s'amortit par un fleuron entre deux pinacles. Dans le tympan est représenté le blason des Ouirit. L'intérieur du château a complètement été remanié au 19e siècle.
