Château de Béost stands in Vonnas (Ain), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 18th century, 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le domaine se compose d’un logis seigneurial, d’une chapelle, d’une serre, de bâtiments de communs et d’un parc qui s’étend aujourd’hui sur 30 hectares. Trois plans conservés dans les archives privées permettent de suivre l’évolution du tracé du parc entre 1770 et la première moitié du 19e siècle. La palette végétale est principalement issue du 19e siècle, mais demeurent encore quelques sujets du 18e, dont un tilleul et des platanes. Du 19e siècle ont été conservées des essences exotiques (séquoias géants, thuya géant, cèdres du Liban, faux poivrier, tulipier de Virginie). Le corps de ferme, à l’est, regroupe un ensemble intéressant de bâtiments fonctionnels disposés autour d’une cour centrale, dont un pigeonnier, un ancien cuvage, une grange, un bâtiment d’habitation, une porcherie et une étable. La chapelle pourrait constituer la partie la plus ancienne du logis. Entre 1770 et 1801, le plan en fer à cheval du premier logis évolue vers un plan relié au corps de ferme.
