The Estruval estate stands on the historic grounds of the former Hesdin park, once created by the Counts of Flanders. Built in the early eighteenth century from an existing hunting lodge, it suffered severe damage during the French Revolution before being completely reconstructed in the early nineteenth century to its previous appearance. The ensemble of house, outbuildings, park and tree-lined approaches reflects early nineteenth-century restoration work and the sustained commitment of successive owners. The domain continues today as a private working estate devoted to farming and horse breeding.
