The Schloss Egmating stands right beside the parish church of St. John the Baptist and St. Michael, in the municipality of Egmating southeast of Munich. This former manorial castle, whose main building dates from the 17th century, passed through the hands of the Schrenck, von Horn, Arco-Zinneberg and finally von Büsing-Orville families, the latter running a brewery on the site until the early 20th century. The farm buildings and brewery, rebuilt after a fire in 1911, date from the first half of the 19th century. Today the Schloss houses private apartments, the clubhouse of the adjoining golf course and an inn, so it is mainly seen from the outside.
