Burg Vogtsberg stands on a hilltop at 270 metres above the Thierbach stream, between Acholshausen and Gaukönigshofen. Originally built as a refuge fortification, it was expanded over the centuries into a medieval castle before being destroyed in 1525 during the Palatine Peasants' War.
