Burg Malchow is a ruined hilltop stronghold on the Schlossberg, a hill overlooking the northeastern edge of the Barnim plateau near Bad Freienwalde in Brandenburg. Built in the early 13th century, this small lordly fortification occupied a strategic position at the crossing of two old trade routes and above a crossing point of the Oder river. Today only scattered remains survive within the wooded terrain, with no standing monumental structure, but the site retains historical interest, having passed from the Wettin dynasty to the Ascanian margraves and then to the von Uchtenhagen family for more than two centuries.
