To make a day of it

Burg Liebenau stands in Liebenau (Landkreis Nienburg/Weser), in Lower Saxony, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Burg Liebenau once stood in Liebenau, in Lower Saxony, but nothing of it remains visible today: the site, located near the Aue river, has long been built over. First recorded in 1300, it served as the seat of the Liebenau bailiwick for the Counts of Hoya, and later as the residence of a smaller county following the 1345 partition. Destroyed in 1512 during a succession dispute, it was never rebuilt as a fortified structure. Visitors should expect no ruin or medieval building, only a historic location with no surviving trace.
