What the French Ministry of Culture records
L'ancienne filature de coton est créée en 1803 par Philippe Fontenilliat, négociant à Rouen. Il construit le logis perpendiculaire à l'allée, un parc, réunit les chutes des trois moulins, construit un canal de fuite. A la fermeture de l'usine en 1892, les bâtiments industriels sont rasés et le lieu est reconverti en espace d'agrément, un nouveau logis avec plan en U donnant sur le parc est construit contre le logement patronal de 1803 par l'architecte Trolliet. Le jardin est restructuré. Le réseau hydraulique existant a fait l'objet d'une mise en scène par la création de perspectives.
