# Vestiges du palais du duc Jean-de-Berry

Bourges, Cher, Centre-Val de Loire

Vestiges du palais du duc Jean-de-Berry stands in Bourges (Cher), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: limite 14th century 15th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In Bourges, within what is now the Cher departmental council building, survive remnants of the palace rebuilt for Jean de Berry at the end of the 14th century. What remains today is limited to a vaulted room upstairs and two rooms on the ground floor, where monumental fireplaces and fragments of heraldic carving can still be seen. The place bears witness to a lesser-known chapter of French royal history: it was here that the future Charles VII took refuge as a young man, and where Louis XI was born.

**Practical details not verified yet.** We know this château and where it is, but we have not yet checked its opening hours or prices at the source. We would rather tell you than display something we are unsure of.
