> Château construit à partir de 1754 pour le prince de Salm, face à l'ensemble abbatial. Ce château occupe une place déterminante dans le plan de la ville du 18e siècle. Lors de la construction du second château en 1775, il devient le pivot de la composition urbanistique et on perce en son milieu un passage charretier (en 1781). Réaménagement au début du 19e siècle. Un incendie en 1994 a complètement ravagé la toiture.
