Set back from the centre of Honfleur, on the heights overlooking the Seine estuary, the Manoir du Désert stands within a walled agricultural estate. Built at the end of the 15th century by seafaring owners from the Pays d'Auge, it combines a ground floor of chequered flint and stone with a timber-framed upper storey, arranged around a corner stair tower on the main façade. Visitors can also spot maritime graffiti carved into the stone, some of which may depict old ships.
