At Plounéventer, the manor of Mézarnou is a residence from the early 16th century, built for Yves de Parceveaux and Jeanne de Kerven, arranged around a closed courtyard whose north and west wings form an L-shaped layout. The octagonal-then-square stair tower, the granite spiral staircase and the flamboyant Gothic decoration of the seigneurial façade are among the building's notable features. The place also carries the memory of violent episodes from the Wars of the League, including the 1594 pillaging and the abduction of a young heiress the following year. The west wing, once devoted to domestic service, still shows the division of spaces between kitchen, sink, trough and salting room.
